Who We Are
Glide4Life is dedicated to creating a cleaner, more conscious world. Through our Plastics Project, we clean beaches and turn recovered plastic into inspiring art that sparks change. Alongside our environmental work, we offer sustainable products that help people live with purpose and reduce their impact—
At Glide4life, we are committed to promoting a sustainable way of life inspired by the effortless gliding of pelicans. We strive to encourage individuals to embrace an environmentally conscious lifestyle that harmonizes with nature.
My name is Ben Broadfoot, an American artist and architectural designer currently traveling Europe's coastal beaches. I am working on a project to create art and raise awareness about ocean pollution. Having surfed for 57 years, I have witnessed the increasing plastic waste on beaches and in the ocean. This issue symbolizes our inability to control technology and has
been a concern of mine since childhood.
About 15 years ago, I began creating artwork with plastic gathered from beaches. I aim to continue this work, focusing on the coastal environment.
I collect debris from local beaches to use as raw materials for my art, which I then donate to communities, coastal museums, and events to raise
awareness and inspire change.
As surfers, we have a close connection to the ocean and feel compelled to protect it. Plastic waste, often left by careless visitors, the fishing industry, cruise ships, and single-use plastics, is a significant issue. This project uses plastic and debris recovered from beaches to highlight how our consumer society is impacting the ocean. My hope is to create awareness about plastic waste and work with local groups to address this problem.
